· Specialize in fixing a bad bite
· Diagnose problems such as crooked teeth, overbites or under bites
· Correct irregularities in the way a person’s teeth are positioned

Work Environment
· Most are self-employed so they must take care of their staff and as well as patients

· Offices are usually comforting and relaxing
Salary & Hours
· Usually work 40-hours a week but may be “on call” when not working
· Orthodontists make a lot of money but most of it goes towards expenses. Even after the expenses are deducted they can make near $100,000
· With more experience and education the salary level can be as high as $400,000
Education
· Some grade 12 courses you should think of taking are biology, chemistry and calculus
· In high school you should also build your leadership skills if you plan on being self-employed, as you will need to manage your business and staff.
